Date of Tax Sale
The Tax Sale is held the 1st Monday in May at 10:00 a.m., EDT, at the Russell County Courthouse, 1000 Broad Street, Phenix City, AL, 36867.
Important Dates to Remember...
October 1....Real Property Taxes Due
January 1...Taxes Delinquent; Payments after this date will be charged late fees -$5 deliquent fee + 12% annual interest
Month of March...Court notices mailed out
3 consecutive weeks in March...Delinquent Property newpaper advertisement published
First (1st) Monday in May...Tax Sale
Bidding
To bid in the tax sale, you must register with the Revenue Commissioner's office no later than 9:30am, Eastern Standard Time, on the day of the tax sale.
Cancellation
Tax sale may be cancelled without penalty up to ten (10) days after sale.
